THE CONCEPT…
We’re Tom Tassone and Rob Singraber, two golf junkies who wanted more out of golf without giving up the rest of our lives.
In 2018, we went looking for local tournaments and kept hitting a wall. Our state association’s events were built for scratch handicaps. The amateur tournaments we did play ate up an entire day, sometimes several, which didn’t work with full-time jobs and families. Leagues were the obvious alternative, but we didn’t want to play the same course every week.
We wanted competitive golf on our own schedule, and it didn’t exist. So we built it.
The Chicago Golf Tour combines the best parts of one-day tournaments, league play, the PGA Tour, and a member-guest, then adds what the others don’t have: flexibility. By giving members the ability to play competitive on their time, when it’s convenient for them, has been an absolute game changer!
The CGT is for golfers who don’t have time for all-day tournaments but want more than a typical league. We didn’t just start another league. We redefined what a league can be.
We’ve made golf leagues cool again.
HOW IT STARTED…
In 2019 the South Side Tour was launched. By 2020, we had over 175 members.
WE CONTINUED TO GROW…
In 2021 we expanded with a North and West Side Tour and rebranded under the Chicago Golf Tour. We exploded with over 600+ members collectively amongst the three tours. Today, the tours are capped to ensure proper management.
